1.1 Scope

1.1.1 This standard provides criteria for the education,training, experience, knowledge, and skills required byan Application Specialist to prepare and applyprotective coatings to steel and concrete surfaces ofcomplex industrial structures. This standard may beused for certification of Application Specialists for othersubstrates or conditions, as considered appropriate byfacility owners, contractors, or certifying agencies.

1.1.2 This standard applies to qualification of anApplication Specialist for work on new construction andmaintenance of complex industrial structures.
