This specification sets down minimum requirements for a hydraulic cement (known as "masonry cement") intended for use in mortars in masonry construction and in rendering and plastering masonry and other surfaces. The specification does not purport to provide for all the requirements of a cement intended for use in special purpose mortars, eg high strength mortars and grouts.
